This house from around 1770 has a couple of sad ghost stories attached to it. As one goes, a little boy, age 8, was left in the care of the owners while the rest of his family took a trip. The family was lost at sea, and the little boy died of grief in the house. His ghost is said to appear occasionally. Another legend tells of a young woman who fell in love with a sea captain. On his return he once brought her a bottle of exotic perfume. When he left, the young woman watched him from the window as he entered a tavern and came out with another girl; they headed for an inn. Heartbroken, the young woman poisoned herself by drinking the perfume he had brought her. Her ghost can be seen watching from the window during summer evenings.
