Investigated by TV’s Ghost Hunters, the Union County Courthouse is said to be haunted by spirits from the Revolutionary War era. A woman’s ghost has been seen in the rotunda, and Hannah Caldwell, the first woman to die in the American Revolution, is said to haunt a fifth floor courtroom where a portrait of her husband Reverend James Caldwell hangs.

  1. I saw her once exit the hall as she got off the elevator.. this was when my dad owned the cafeteria that’s located in the basement back in 1991… I went to the elevator one time when it chimed, she got off but the car wasn’t there… she told me be careful not to fall.

I had always said that the court house was haunted When ever I was in this court house Someone would always touch my arm when I sat on a bench in the hall way on the 3rd floor waiting to go into the court room. I also was in the old county jail a few times when at night every one was in their cell sleeping and I would wake up to the sounds of keys going down the cat walk and no one was on this cat walk at all. St one time I swore I seen a woman in a long black dress like from the 1920 1930 and this frighten me so much I pulled the wool blanket over my eyes and closed my eyes real tight and started praying.my name is Deborah A.
