Dating back to 1904, the historic hotel and restaurant is believed to be haunted. Perhaps eight or nine hauntings are attached to the old building, but only prominent one is that of a female spirit known as ‘Clara’ (the spelling varies depending on the source). Room #007 is rumoured to be a ghostly hotspot, with guests reportedly being pushed by an unseen force. Others claim that photographs taken in this room refuse to develop. In the main dining room, diners have reported dishes smashing, doors opening and closing and a mirror that repeatedly falls off the wall. Other reports indicate that a woman in an old-fashioned dress has been seen on several occasions, and that sounds of loud music have been heard coming from empty rooms.

I will say right now, if you’re looking for rustic and the smell of a grandmother’s home, then this might be for you. A friend and I were on a road trip around Austin and San Antonio and this was conveniently on the way up back to Dallas, so we booked a hotel room there. We did not see ANY staff that night, in fact they called us while we were driving to the hotel and they said they were leaving for the night so they were going to leave the key in our room door. What? No ghosts, just a dead roach in our hotel room and a bad night’s sleep.
Yeah, it’s haunted…!!!! Romantic and charming, but at night very creepy! Perfect weekend getaway. We investigated it and heard chars dragged out from the table in the dark about 20′ from us! It happened twice. Something thrown in the bar, random smell of roses, we both heard a lady scream, EVPs, and more…. https://youtu.be/GGpsjjShwQ0
