Reports vary on who and why the Lucerne Inn is haunted. Some people claim that there was double murder-suicide that took place here when a man caught his wife cheating. Details of the catching and the man vary from story to story with his name changing with the telling of it. Other people claim the ubiquitous woman killing herself over a faithless man story. Whatever the root cause, people believe the Inn is haunted, and most people are consistent that room 8 is the most haunted room of the Inn.

My husband and I were married at Lucerne Inn and I absolutely believe the haunting. As we were waiting for our appointment to meet with the wedding coordinator I overheard the front desk staff talking about the piano (on the lowest floor, in a hallway) being played (again) in the early morning hours. No one was there, no guests were staying in the nearby rooms, and apparently this is a fairly common occurrence.
My husband and I got married 5 years ago and came to the Lucerne inn for our honeymoon. We had one of the suites up on the top floor to the left. I don’t know if it’s haunted but I closed the door to our room and when I sat on the bed the door opened. My thoughts were maybe I didn’t shut the door good. Then I made sure that I shut the door until it clicked and I pulled on it to make sure it wouldn’t open. As it started walking back to the bed and the door opened again. I was a little weirded out. Probably just something wrong with the door I don’t know. Still a little creepy though.
my husband and I were staying in room 4 and as he got up to go to the bathroom around 2 in the morning the tv came on very loud , so we said something to the front desk and the clerk at the desk said the same thing happened 2 weeks prior .
