The 1937 lodge began as a retreat for highway patrolmen and their families and a memorial to highway patrolman George Penn, who was shot and killed on the job. It was opened to the public in 1990. Rumor has it that the ghost who resides here is none other than George Penn. He has been seen walking around in Room 4 and has been known to steal the toilet paper from Room 2.

Room 218 the EVP states “Because she looks so pretty” I had to go back and listen to it a couple of times but finally understood it. The man is saying “Because she looks so pretty.
3 years ago, my fiancé, my daughter and her friend, rode around back, near the kitchen. We seen people dressed from way back. men had long tailed suits on, women had long, heavy white dresses with aprons. My daughter hid in the back seat, crying. She was 15. I couldn’t get the car turned around fast enough.
