This farmhouse, built during the Civil War, was once even used as a war hospital. Around its grounds, ghosts have been spotted reliving the war.

I was in gettsburg about 8 years ago when i asked my son to go to the devils den with me he was about 8 years old . I bought a recorder to see if i could pick up anything i told my son he had to be quiet . I told him he could talk some but he also needed to be quiet . We walked around the fields nearby and back to our car .I then said to my son doo you want to listen now or on our way back. He said he wanted to listen at the devils den so we sat and listened it was 5:30 am and our recorder was new nobody in the field and a beautiful morning . When i turned this on to listen i had an amazing surprise a voice of a boy who was in our conversaton when i was telling my son to be quiet a boy said if i am not quiet you all want me to leave i was so amazed from there on i knew their were spirits i still ghost hunt and have gotten many more things from different places ..
cool
Very informative, thank you.
I stayed here in 2009 and and I was the first to arrive, I dropped my bag at the door and pressed the buzzer to the house at the back of the property for the owner and then stepped back off the entrance to take a picture.
I still have the picture and in it is the face of a bearded man at the bottom left window closest to the door, there was no one in at the time. I had a strange feeling inside and left the following day after a nights stay.
It is a wonderful place to stay.
Did anything happen during your stay? I’m staying there this weekend. Id love to see your pic.
I stayed at the Lightner bed and breakfast yesterday. It was a BEAUTIFUL place. It is NOT haunted. I did not see anything nor feel anything. All of this talk about the Lightner farmhouse being haunted is bull crap. If your saying it’s really haunted, your trying to make money. I HIGHLY recommend staying here next time your in Gettysburg! Everyone is charming and you are more than well taken care of!
Well Daisy, just because you didn’t experience something Paranormal doesn’t mean its not haunted. So technically you’re wrong in this situation and the place is haunted.
Absolute QUEEN!! Go off!
