Lake Arcola is no more – it dried up decades ago and is now mostly open fields with some water and a few small structures. And that’s what makes it so weird that drivers on North Buckingham Road, which skirts the western edge of what used to be Lake Arcola, regularly report seeing a barefoot woman “fishing” in the area with a cane pole. Some believe she is the ghost of a woman who died in the lake long ago.

I have lived just barely more than a mile from this site since 2003 and I have never heard of this tale. I drive on Buckingham Road anywhere from two to six times a month. Has anyone heard of this story?
I have lived a mile from the sight listed here for eleven years. I drive by it on a somewhat regular basis and I have never heard of a ghost woman.
