The ghost of Lady Elizabeth Somerset is reported to knock three times at her memorial if she is present (she died after falling from her horse). Some people report seeing her and other report the sound of horse hooves.

A woman has been seen in the old lane by pearces lane off hambrook lane & my cousin & I saw a woman in a white summer dress dancing across the field in the stoke gifford popular rooms.There was a rumour a woman died in the old quarry off hambrook lane,by pearces & the old farm.
Me and m children were walking home late one nite when we seen a large black dog on the veranda it was large and very noisy growly and barking at us my children were afraid but the closer wee got the hardervitvwas to see it my son saw a white shadow stiokbnextvto it and then both vanished almost as tho someone took the dog away that was the night before Halloween
