The 1901 historic hotel and restaurant is haunted by the ghost of Mabel Magee, a young barmaid who passed away at the establishment. Her spirit has been known to slam doors and play practical jokes on male guests. Others claim to have heard disembodied footsteps and a ghostly female voice.

  1. At around 3 AM the small window AC turned off and there was a weird sulfur smell that came and went. But the part that freaked me out the most is I felt like someone had sat at the bottom edge of the bed, I tucked my feet up and covered my face. The AC turned back on. Another guy in our party sleeping in another room had the same smell, and woke up to his entire toilet paper roll unraveled in a pile on the bathroom floor.

  2. I agree that this place is like a must-visit for everyone intrigued by paranormal activity. The story of Mabel Magee and her playful tricks on male guests adds a fascinating layer of mystery to the hotel’s history. Hearing about disembodied footsteps and ghostly voices makes it all the more eerie. It’s really interesting to hear firsthand accounts from visitors who’ve stayed at haunted spots like this. I also think that checking in with services like divi resorts customer service can help ensure accommodations that fit the vibe of the adventure. Haunted stays like this definitely make for memorable experiences!
