This place no longer exists, but at one time it was a huge hotel with about 200 rooms. It was the Panorama Inn, then the Silver Lake Lodge, then it was left to ruin in the 1980s for about twenty years before finally being demolished around 2006. Before it was torn down though it was a popular “haunt” for local ghost hunters, who swore doors would open and close on their own. These days its just an empty lot on the lake.

Doors slamming yes, typewriters typing, oh yes orbs yes,my girl friend would never step foot in here but ince.i have so many memories when this place was still there.vreepy as hell and very haunted.
In the early 70’s, we stayed at this lodge on a regular basis through the mid-eighties and loved the place which faced the lake. The semi-formal restaurant there was simply the best at the time. One day when we arrived for dinner, we found the place all chained up and closed. This once pristine and very classy lodge and restaurant would remain empty and abandoned for many years, then demolished – what a waste. Recently, I came across an original postcard of the place – a real tug on the heart with such wonderful memories. I have never experienced anything paranormal there.
I was 16 yrs old when I went to the Panorama Inn with my mother and sister in 1978, my sister was 17 at the time, we we’re from St.Pete. I don’t know how my mother learned of the place but I’m glad, as I have a nice family memory, I am now 57…I remember it was a beautiful place…serene and classy. in the lounge a man sat at a piano or organ not sure which, but I asked him to play and sing on request “The first time I ever saw your face” by Roberta Flack and he did. It was the last time my mother, sister, and I had a familial relationship, the family fell apart after that when my brother moved back home with a messed up wife and baby. I’m so glad I have that last memory of a good vacation…never had another one again with family. There were no issues of being haunted, a totally normal place. Cynthia Moody

I was there circa 1982 with my grandparents. I was sitting outside the back by their room and it felt like bees were stinging my legs but there were no bees or bugs on my legs. If I went inside it stopped. If I tried to sit outside, the stinging feeling came back to the point it was unbearable to sit outside. It only happened that one day. This memory has always stuck in my mind as it was a very strange experience. I never felt anything like it to this day.
I worked there for a year in 1978.
