Silver Creek Saloon and Restaurant - Robert Striegler House

You are here Home  > Restaurants and Bars >  Silver Creek Saloon and Restaurant - Robert Striegler House

Dating back to 1905, the historic house is now a restaurant and saloon. The place is haunted by a female apparition in period clothing, perhaps the wife of the original builder.

  1. My wife and I had lunch at the German restaurant at 310 East Main a couple of years ago and heard a woman sobbing in the back of the restaurant on the side bordering 312 East Main. From where we were seated we couldn’t see around the corner where the crying was coming from and assumed someone was seating there who had just received some upsetting news. Once the crying stopped I got up to see who was sitting there but there was no one. The crying had been very loud and both my wife and I heard it but nobody in the restaurant seemed to notice. Very strange……

  2. I worked here as a kid in the 90’s when it was Main Street Grill. Spent a lot of time with the family and their kids. Never saw or heard anything. Rathskeller, a few hundred feet to the West, in the basement of the old Kiedel Hospital though, is another story. As is the old Clear River Pecan building, which is now Pasta Bella. I had real experiences at both places.
