Hi, May of 2017 I had the dream come true of visiting William Faulkner’s home, Rowen Oak. I walked to the upstairs, took many pictures. I was alone, my fiancé was downstairs and a few other visitors. I was standing at the doorway of Jill’s room when I felt a man, short like my fiancé walk up behind me, I turned to speak and realized without a doubt it was the great gentleman, Mr Faulkner. He stood behind me for a minute or so then as voices began drifting up the stairway he was gone. I felt a sense of peace and realized that William Faulkner knew how important being there was for me. It was my 67th birthday and I was happy to visit his home. I am not some kook, I have felt it was a gift and have hesitated to share this with anyone, only my fiancé, this was my experience NOT for others, but for others who love his work and want to see his home they should know to always enter with respect.

    2. My husband and I married here a few days before Faulkner’s birthday. I was looking through some wedding photos and found a few with “orbs” in my hair. It is notable I had no veil, nothing in my hair, not even a pin.
