the guys from TAPS hit this place. they had a shadow on camera they couldn’t explain but found that a great many of the ‘odd smells’ people had commented on for years came from a badly sealed closet full of cleaning supplies.
Me and my fiance were at Presidio Officers’ Club this morning. We first visited the exhibit room located to the left of their main entrance and flipped through their album that was displayed by the window in the far left of the exhibit room, as I reached to the page where it showed a black and white picture of an army band playing at the field, me and my fiance started hearing marching foot steps and a man signing cadence outside the window, the sound of their marching step seemed to be traveling at a steady paste from right to left and the sound of their heels does not match to any kind of boots or shoes we wear in today’s military, it sounded more like hard solid metallic heels hitting the grounf but there were no sign of large group activities going on outside. I checked both for hidden speakers along the wall and ceiling then we both ran out side the main entrance, looking for any signs of military personnel marching away from our vicinity. We doubled checked and nothing seemed to match with what we heard. We soon came to a conclusion on what we have just heard – we met soldiers from the past. To all who are still in formation, seen or unseen, I salute you!
On several occasions I’ve seen a woman in a long black lace dress and mantilla or veil. Once waiting to enter the ladies room I saw the apparition go into the restroom. One of the waiters asked why I hadn’t gone in and I said that someone was in there. He said no one was in there and opened the door to show me it was empty. Another time I was having lunch in the main ballroom and saw the figure go through the passage from the ballroom to the lounge area. I asked who the lady and was and was told, there’s no one there. I saw her pass behind the buffet table one evening at dinner. These sighting happened when I was an adult. Another time,I smelled flowers in the room just off the ballroom where deceased soldiers were placed in the past. My dad said maybe they’d had a funeral earlier that day and there had been none. I was in my teens at the time.
As you enter the club the room on the left was known as the smoking room for soldiers in the old days. I smelled fireplace smoke and asked one of the waiters about the fire and he told me there’d been no fire in the fireplace.
