Plaza Theatre

You are here Home  > Theaters >  Plaza Theatre

The 1930 Plaza Theatre, originally a movie house, has several ghosts, according to witnesses. Lights turn on and off, and an eerie red-orange light has been seen traveling through the mezzanine. Some of the apparitions here include a shadowy man in black and an elderly man smoking a cigarette. Also thought to be here is the spirit of a little girl, whose laughing is heard accompanied by the sound of a ball bouncing down the stairs in the Grand Lobby.

  1. You have never mentioned The Mc Coy Hotel downtown next to the Plaza Theatre.I worked there in the early 70s as an elevator operator. There were stories of sightings on the 5th floor right by the stairs going to the roof of the building. I never believed any of the stories because I did not believe in ghosts. One time I was sent upstairs to check on a room on the 5ih floor and I sure saw the ghost of a man in that particular area.I never told anyone. I felt no one would believe me. The building is not a hotel anymore. After all this years ,I slill wonder if people see that ghost.
