Formerly the D.L. Storey Centre, Pinnacle Playhouse is haunted by a ghost nicknamed Ophelia, after Hamlet’s beloved in the Shakespeare play. There are many ways Ophelia makes herself known: A lady in black appears in the control booth, figures sit in the auditorium seats, green eyes appear in the air vents, voices are heard backstage, lights do strange things, and a man’s laugh has even rung out in the women’s restroom. Some say, besides Ophelia, a former janitor’s ghost occasionally visits.

In early 2020 I visited the Pinnacle Theatre to buy tickets. The elevator doors kept opening and closing although nobody was inside. The man behind the ticket booth told me this had been going all morning and he didn’t know why!
