Rumor has it that if you stay in the “old side” of the house, you may meet a ghost. She is called the Goodnight Ghost because she is often seen at night, touching guests in their sleep or whispering to them. She’s also been known to move their personal items in the night.

  1. My wife and I spent a couple nights at the Penny House Inn several years ago for our anniversary. We were not aware of the hauntings at the time. We were the only guests staying in the original inn. Late the first night we heard whispering coming from outside our door, but when I looked I saw no one. In the wee hours of the morning before dawn, bottles of sparkling water I had placed in the room size refrigerator began exploding. The temperature control had mysteriously reset to full cold. We enjoyed our stay at this lovely inn and I would love to go back, but my wife is understandably reluctant.
