Several reports claim that an apparition can be seen standing in the shallow marsh to the left of the bridge to Manitou Island (private area). The ghostly figure is said to be a younger female, wearing casual clothing from circa 1920. The figure has yet to be identified.
Others have claimed to have heard screeching and footsteps with no source coming from the parking lot area near the bridge.

Phantom lights are spotted every once in awhile on the Wisconsin side of the river, always around the early morning and late afternoon hours. An apparition of a little girl has been seen multiple times running across the edge of the drop-off into the river, on the Minnesota side. Tourists have tried to stop the little girl from getting too close to the edge, but the apparition disappears when they got too close. The little girl’s identity has yet to be identified.

A seance was held in an effort to communicate with a dead civil war soldier. There was a lot of weird stuff happening at the seance, including flickering lights, shaking plates, sulfur smells, demons and things like that. A few days later, demons appeared in the shape of glowing gargoyles on the top floors. 5 or so participants in the seance died the following year.
Also, there’s a really creepy statue of a huge cherubic face on the front lawn. It has a hole in the forehead with a warped mirror inside. Spooky.

The McGill Residence is a student dorm. The buildings are not so old, but while I was TRU student I had creepy experience at one of the dorm buildings. It happened probably in 2007, Winter semester reading break. The property has 3 dorm buildings, I was lived in the center building of the buildings, the paranormal activity happened in right side building. All of Canadian students went back to home at the time, I and my international student class mates was drinking at one of the student’s room with talking creepy ghost story or experience. When I was talking about my story that happened in Japan, then suddenly everyone heard that women laughing creepily. However, my friend her room mates are all gone to home, and other students also almost no one at the residence. my friends thought I did, but I did not. I have never heard some one died at the area while I was studying there, but it happened…

The forest all around Lake Elmo (lake) is rumoured to be haunted by a middle-aged man who walks the trails in the early evening hours. Visitors who approach or greet the apparition get a surprise when the man disappears into thin air, no-where to be seen. People who walk the trail also get a sense of being watched.

Gladstone Gaol was built between 1879 -1881 and is now no longer an active gaol it has long been claimed to be haunted because of the prisoners who died of disease hangings etc many people who enter the gaol claim to hear disembodied voices see apparitions feel presences and much much more.

I have been working at Platos Closet in Anchorage for a little bit of over a month and I have started to notice more and more paranormal activity. It happens usually at 3 a.m. when no one is here and we catch things in the morning. It used to be a few sounds here and there but today 4/30/2016 at 3 am our trash can lid was lifted off and thrown on the floor. I have video footage I would love to send you guys if you are interested. We have had a couple signings of a bleach blond hair teen that wonders the store late at night when no one is here and we are closed up for the night.

People have been known to become trapped, and unable to find their way out. Voices can be heard after sun set, and there have even been a few deaths within Holy Land.

My wife and 23 year old daughter “Charlotte” went camping in April 2016 at “Beer Can Point” which is a small camp ground with a boat dock at Canyon Lake AZ. The camp ground is only accessible by boat.

Charlotte went for a short hike to the rock bluff over looking the camp ground. When she returned she told me that while she was sitting atop the bluff she was startled by a cowboy who walked up behind her, Charlotte said to him ” I’m sorry but you just surprised me” the cowboy tipped his hat and said “I apologize ma’am” Charlotte looked away for a second and when she turned back to talk to him he was gone!
There were no other boats at the dock. Charlotte said the cowboy had a big western mustache and was wearing a full cowboy coat like in the movie tombstone.
