There is a friendly ghost at the golf club in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. He has been seen by a number of people many times in the kitchen area and gets irritated when large groups of women spend too much time, generally around lunch, in the restaurant section. He likes to touch and tickle the waitresses. A couple of months ago, he touched me on the right shoulder and I asked the owner if something weird was happening and she said, “it’s probable the ghost messing around.” I then began to hear all the stories from the waitresses and other customers. He appears as a tall, slender man (6′ or more and skinny) He moves quickly as a dark grey or black image gliding past the employees, usually after he tickles them. For some reason, he locks the front door after people leave and selects music on the jukebox, without any money going in to start the songs. Also, the songs he picks are not songs that are installed in the machine. (I believe he is a Country and Western fan) Normally, I would call BS on this sort of thing, but what is happening appears to be real or at the very least unexplained.
Antioch Rest Cemetery in Grandview Texas has a long history of paranormal activity. People have reported that they have had rocks thrown at their cars when parked across the road or even when driving by with nobody around. We experienced this for ourselves, and while we weren’t able to officially document it, it was something that we couldn’t find a rational explanation for.
Other people have seen shadows and ghost lights. We were able to document some of this activity for ourselves on video, but could not find a conclusive source.
There is at least one known account of a possible dark attachment that was the result of an amateur investigation at the site. A woman with a group of friends became confrontational while trying to elicit a paranormal response; Later that night she began acting strangely and began having violent outbursts. Later that night a family friend with strong religious background came and prayed over the woman and the activity with her eventually ceased. However for months after that, other friends of the group who were present during the investigation, and the cleansing; began experiencing events in their own homes such as their children becoming suddenly afraid, screaming out in terror in the night, furniture moving on it’s own without explanation, and phantom noises when nobody else was home. After time the activity stopped on it’s own. But the people involved refuse to go back.
Our team went out here after just finding the cemetery at random. We were actually trying to film an episode somewhere that had no history where we thought we wouldn’t find much of anything. We were trying to have an episode where we could debunk a lot of typical things people usually find in a graveyard. What ended up happening is we left in a big hurry.
The night started out pretty normal, but once we started moving towards the back of the lot we started hearing noises. Naturally we assumed it was an animal and cautiously started trying to find eye shine. We kept hearing the noises from a very distinct area, but nothing would shine in our lights or show up on our thermal camera. When I tried to approach the area something growled very loudly at me. We were getting ready to pack up because we assumed we had just invaded a pack of coyotes scavenging ground. But then three of us all at the same time saw a shadowy figure walk passed the back entrance where nobody should be.
It made no noise; but I could make out a torso, another person actually saw a face, and another saw legs. It did not look human, but it was human sized and upright. We stayed as long as we could stand it trying to debunk what we saw, but started to feel very threatened. We would have probably ran out, but I had about 2 grand worth of equipment to pick up. We very quickly turned on the cars headlights, and anything else we had and quickly packed up our things.
I didn’t get anything on the video, but I did get some very aggressive EVPs. We went back during the day to look for signs of animal or people screwing with us, but nothing was there. We will eventually be going back for a follow up investigation.
There have been ghost sightings on this road hitchhiking. Do not stop or you may get hurt. Its not a real person and you will have a feeling that you are being watched. I traveled down that road didn’t see anything but I felt a presence. The reason why it is haunted is down there is a hanging tree from a long time ago.
The structure burned down and took the lives of five people within. It was rebuild and served a while as a nursing home at the end of it’s days before it was abandoned in 1980. It is said that a man haunts the basement of the structure.
This building was formerly the Harbour House and before that Mama Maraglia’s. As a former employee and patron of the Harbour House, I have seen some many things that would make even the hardest doubter shake their heads.
It is said the Mama Maraglia walks around the second floor to and from her bedroom, which was the female bathroom. No matter what we tried that bathroom was always frigid and you can hear foot steps on the second floor when you know no one else is in the building.
One night while closing I alone I blew out all the candles upstairs. When I went back yup after making sure the downstairs was clean I saw the candles had relit.
One night while having dinner upstairs with about 10 friends in February, the bolted shut windows blew open from the inside.
Built in 1906 in the middle of Mira Flores Park by builder Davis Donald for Mr. and Mrs. Kirke Field. Both had moved West due to suffering from ‘Consumption’ (Tuberculosis). They met at a sanitarium in Colorado and were friends of Doc Holiday. Mrs. Field died shortly after the mansion was finished, and Mr. Field sold it soon after to the Moore family (Moore Middle School/ owners of Redlands Daily Facts Newspaper) which owned it for nearly 7 decades. One prominent guest of the house was California governor in the 1920s, Friend Richardson, and an apparition matching his description was seen by two people in 2005. The specter was crawling on hands and knees, dressed in night clothes, and stopped, turned and smiled, and then continued on in the direction of the room where the governor had stayed many decades earlier. Several people are recorded as having died in the house, which has approximately 25 rooms. Fieldmoore was once owned by the president of General Mills, and has had butlers, cooks, gardeners, governesses, and maids working on staff. Ghosts that have been sighted include one dubbed ‘the tall man’, which once invited a construction worker to come down the outdoor stairs that lead to the cellar. The worker was discovered sitting at the top of the staircase, crying, shaking his head and repeating ‘I don’t want to go down there!’. The ‘tall man’s’ figure has been seen at night in the main dining room with his arms folded across his chest, but he is only seen in the reflection of the leaded glass windows of the adjoining living room. He does not fit the description of either Mr. Field, nor Mr. Moore, so his identity is a mystery. a young man has been seen sitting in the dark on the inside stairs of the cellar. Another spirit there will climb the grand staircase, each step clearly heard, and then knock gently on the door of the master suite at the top of the stairs. Sometimes the door handle will also be turned! The burglar alarm for the mansion would go off regularly when the owners were not at home and the police would come out only to find nothing. One time the alarm went off when the owner was at home and the police arrived. The owner let the police in to search the mansion but no one was found. The policeman drew his gun and went to search the house, but after being informed of the reputation of the house being haunted, the brave officer’s hand and the drawn pistol were shaking! He could handle a burglar, no problem, but a ghost was another thing altogether! Doors will open and slam even when there is no wind, and the electric gates have often opened and closed by themselves. Once, a former owner of the house, had his name called loudly from a lower floor in the house. The owner heard a younger woman’s voice call his name out loud. The man figured someone had come inside the house and was looking for him so he responded ‘Yes? I’m upstairs!” , but when searching found no one in the house. What was spooky about this event was that this owner’s name was ‘Kirk’, which is the same name as the original owner (Kirke Filed). Another worker complained about being followed by an apparition that was dressed in a maid’s uniform. This spirit would not cross the threshold of the master suite. Today the house is the executive mansion for the president of the University of Redlands.
Built in 1905, the employees of this library have heard strange noises including knocking, whistling, whispering, dragging sounds, and even the sounds of the toys in the children’s area moving by themselves after closing. The employees have also mentioned seeing figures watching them or shadows darting around. They have said that activity increases if there are people be they employees or not, there after closing time
It is said that Mary Long Elitch still roams the theater. Through the 1960’s, stars performing here have reported seeing Mary Sitting Usually sitting on the top deck.
The place was a pleasant place to stay, and the price for two nights was oddly $666. We’re not very superstitious people so we didn’t think much of other people mentioning the history the place has with witches and Native American spirits.
The stay was comfortable, but there were some odd things we noticed like the sounds of walking in the hallway late at night. We saw eyes in the woods in the backyard, but most likely a fox or other curious forest creature drawn in by the light. We felt odd tugging on the sheets but we shared beds in each room, so that’s to be expected.
There was a feeling like we there was constantly something else was present and we’d all suddenly get chills even though the windows were closed. We had some slips around the brook in the back, but no one was hurt and we had an enjoyable stay.
