Growden Mansion

Allegedly haunted by the ghost of Benjamin Franklin who is said to be seen flying his kite in a thunderstorm. Some people also claim to hear battle sounds from the Revolutionary War.

Huntress Hall - Keene State College

Built in 1926, this college dorm is said to be haunted by Harriet Huntress herself, the board-of-education higher-up for whom the dorm was named. Strange noises have come from the attic, where it is reported that Ms. Huntress’ wheelchair still sits.

Sidewinders Bar & Grill

Visit this bar and grill, housed in a 1908 building that for many years was a sort of saloon, and you may see and hear some strange things. The jukebox has been known to max out its volume suddenly, ghostly laughter may ring out, and unexplained shadowy figures may be seen. This is easiest to notice, as one might assume, when the place is clear of large crowds and only contains a few people. Reports say the haunts here are not harmful.

Music Administration Building - Northwestern University

The second-oldest building on the college campus, the 1874 Music Administration Building is home to Young Cliff, the ghost of a former student and prodigy. Reports say the ghost has been making himself known for several decades.

Rialto Theatre Music Hall

The 1929 theater closed in 1980, then was restored and opened again in 1987 to show movies. It closed again in the early 2000s and now has been opened again, and presents musical performances. The historic building has its share of haunts. Employees say they’ve heard footsteps, seen apparitions, and smelled the waft of ghostly cologne in a restroom upstairs. The site has been featured on many TV shows.

Kern County Kids Shelter - Sinaloa Mexican

Once the Kern County Kids Shelter, the Mexican restaurant Sinaloa’s 100-plue-year-old building is said to be a hotspot for paranormal activity. The feelings experienced here are generally good ones, reports say.

Easkoot House

This private home is said to be haunted by a former owner who stomps outside at 2 a.m. to search on the beach for a missing golden hook. Also reported is a burglar alarm that rang out for over 10 minutes, although the alarm was completely disconnected. Please respect the privacy of the owners of this residence.

Osgood Castle - Redstone Castle

Folks say the ghost of the owner, John C. Osgood, still lingers on the property. Also lingering is the smell of his ghostly cigar smoke, which is how the caretaker detected the ghost’s presence when no one else was on the property.

Pioneer Park - Henry Webber House

The Henry Webber House is said to be haunted by Harriet Webber, the wife of the home’s builder. She reportedly died in 1881, interestingly enough four years before the house was built, of accidental strychnine poisoning.

Gakona Lodge and Trading Post

During a visit to the Gakona Lodge and Trading Post, you may hear disembodied footsteps and voices, and smell the ghostly waft of tobacco smoke from long ago.
