The nineteenth-century inn and restaurant may have closed down, but the residence is still believed to be haunted by the daughter of the lumber baron who built the original house. Local folk claim that the spirit, known as ‘Grace’, still wanders the halls of the old mansion.
Built in Spanish Revival-style, the 1927 hotel now features a quaint restaurant on the ground floor. The guest rooms have since been refurbished as apartments, but the original ballroom still retains its period features. This part of the building is haunted according to visitors, who have reported ghostly piano music and the apparition of a man in an old-fashioned suit.
The 1860’s Green Mountain Lodge, formerly the Clyde River Hotel, is rumoured to be haunted. The third floor appears to be the main source of paranormal activity, due to the fact that many unusual accidents and deaths have occurred up there. The most common apparition is that of a scowling man in a suit (perhaps a former manager), who died after a short illness in an upstairs room. Others spirits include a woman who fell to her death from the cupola, and a ghostly timber sawyer who is heard, but never seen.
Diners at this old-fashioned bar and grill have reported hearing a female voice when no one is around. Others claim to have encountered an impatient spirit, whose presence is heralded by the relentless tapping of an invisible foot against the floor.
The 1816 hotel and restaurant is haunted. Staff and diners have experienced an eerie presence on the third floor, and the mezzanine is haunted by a poltergeist that causes the chandeliers to swing to and fro.
The 1833 inn and restaurant is haunted by a poltergeist who has been known to turn lights on and off. This activity has been confined to Room 2 and Room 6. The basement is also believed to be haunted, as staff have reported feeling an unusual presence and cold spots down there.
A lady in green is seen inside and in the garden; this is said to be the former homeowner, Elizabeth Dalton. A cavalier and poltergeist activity is also reported.
A lady in grey, believed to be Sarag Siddons, is seen here. In her lifetime, Siddons played Lady Macbeth here, but after death she might be the one that is reportedly seen throughout. A male spirit named Harald is also believed to be here.
