The presence of a military officer has been felt on one of the platforms, as if he is still waiting for a train. A shadowy apparition which appeared to be lost was seen by many during the mid-twentieth century, but has not been seen recently. Also not seen recently was the ghost of a homeless man with just three fingers, who terrified passengers and workers by appearing and disappearing suddenly all over the station.
The building has served several purposes in its long history, but has been abandoned. As well as housing a great number of discarded artifacts, visitors have reported sightings of shadowy figures roaming the top and bottom floors of the abandoned museum. An eerie presence is also felt in the building.
Night-time visitors to this overlook area off the Blue Ridge Parkway (near mile marker 464) often claim to see strange, glowing lights in the sky. No one has yet been able to definitively explain the source or reason for these lights.
Long said to be one of the most haunted spots in Charlotte but no one seems to know who haunts it or why. In 2013 it was announced that Dixie’s would be closing and the land would be made into a park, so it seems it is slated for demolition sometime soon.
Conover Square is a former piano factory, now a shopping mall. Built in the 1890’s, it is now the home of many haunted happenings. A little girl’s spirit giggles in the hallways & museum, loud crashes boom from the unoccupied third floor, and more than one female visitor has felt an unwelcome touch in the basement! Many guests report the presence of a man in the south hallway, and sometimes his laughter can be heard there. Public areas (including the museum) and stores are open every day except for holidays. Ghost hunts are available by appointment.
River’s Inn Bed and Breakfast is haunted by Annie, and possibly others. Witnesses have seen the little girl named Annie, and heard her laughing and playing. Voices of a man and woman also have been heard, and the spirits have answered questions posed by ghost investigators. Annie’s fingerprints in flour were found as recently as March 6, 2014, on the dining table and china cabinet. One of the ghosts (hopefully not Annie) also has left cigar ashes between the sheets and in bedroom corners.
The north end of Buffalo Ridge Road becomes a dirt road. The story tells that a man hung himself here, and with so much grief, the wife murdered her three children. One boy, a girl, and a baby. If you drive slow on the dirt road at night, it is said to be haunted. I went on there the other night and saw apparitions of a female in a dress with dark hair, silhouettes of people running on all fours, people walking around. Scary.
This is a costume store in the back of a small shopping center on 1408 N. Carpenter Rd. in SW Modesto, CA. I’ve talked to the owner of this store before and she showed me a great full body apparition caught on camera. I’ve also watched video clips of a ghost hunting group that’s investigated the location and documented occurrences. There’s a coffin from Argentina I believe in the back of the store that is purported to be haunted along with another coffin. Things have been moved around in the store and caught on camera.
The theatre has been renovated from a theatre to a cinema several times, which has caused unrest among the spirits that reside here. They include the former owner of the theatre and the ghost of a shadowy figure who likes to stand on the theatre balcony.
The current and previous owners of the house have reported seeing a man in a white shirt rushing past the kitchen window towards the front door, however when they open the door, the man has vanished.
