A glowing apparition has been seen in several hotel rooms late at night or in the early hours of morning. Guests have reported seeing their closet doors open and close by themselves, as well as hearing ghostly voices and ballroom music.
This 1900’s hotel is believed to be haunted by two ghosts, including that of a woman named Lily and of a former merchant. Singing voice, and the apparition of a woman in a ballroom outfit (most likely Lily) have been seen on various floors of the hotel. Objects move around by themselves.

Strange noises and voices have been heard. The face of a man has also been seen in the hotel basement. Shadowy apparitions are seen in various parts of the building. Heavy breathing is heard when there is no one around.
This home on the National Register is occupied by “Cookie” the ghost that has been present for several home owners. Smells of cooking have been present, lights turned off and on, objects moved, and animals will not eat in Cookie’s kitchen. She is a prankster, but a good ghost to live with! The Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is said to be the country’s largest restored Shaker village. Its 3,000 acres contain 34 original Shaker buildings and perhaps a few ghosts, as well. It is said that ghostly babies can be heard crying at night around the pond.
The historic Greensburg Courthouse, built 1802-06, was used until 1931. With a history that long, of course it’s bound to have some ghosts. Folks say that in the courtrooms you can hear ghostly activity such as footsteps and murmured talking.
A harrowing tale has been told by a man who was walking along Coral Hill Road one night. He saw the transparent white form of a headless horseman, which then followed him home. The ghost was spotted by the man’s family members, who awoke to find the ghost in the yard and all the house’s doors standing wide open.
Ther is a site at Campbell Cemetery called Coffin Rock, where locals say a man was shot and killed long ago. Now, when it rains, there appears to be blood running down the rock. Several ghosts are said to call this area home as well: an old man who flags down passing cars, a girl who stands in the middle of the road, and an elderly woman who appears to be lost.
The old Bethlehem Academy, once a convent and then a hotel, is now a restaurant. Rumor has it that it’s haunted by the ghosts of nuns and other folks who were murdered on the premises long ago. The spirits manifest by turning lights on and off and moving chairs and other objects after closing time.
