Concord Cemetery

Investigators claim to have captured orbs in photographs taken at this cemetery, and mysterious breathing noises appear on audio recordings.

Ridgewood Winery

When the Lewis and Dick family built Ridgewood Farm in 1725 & 1811, we’re certain they would have never dreamed that one day the creation of these buildings would still be standing nearly 300 years later. A lot has happened over the years, to the residents and property, to still have some of the past residents, due to to unforeseen horrific accidents, are still here. Most spirits are moving doors, walking around, throwing wine corks and appearing on customers cameras. These unexplained events are the reason Ridgewood Winery is one of Berks County’s most Haunted Locations.

The Ostrich Inn

I worked here about 30 years ago in the kitchen. I used to hear a little child running up and down the stairs. When I would look there was no-one there. I was told it was the ghost of a little girl who had died falling down the stairs.

Adelaide Arcade

The Adelaide Arcade has long had a reputation for being haunted. There are three ghosts that haunt the arcade. One of these ghosts is Francis Cluney, who was a caretaker of the arcade who died when he fell into the electricity generator back in 1887. Many people have claimed to see, feel and hear his spirit within the arcade.

Waterfall Gulley Restaurant - Utopia Hotel

The Waterfall Gulley restaurant has long been known to be haunted. Many people have seen objects moving on their own, heard disembodied voices, and have seen an apparition of a man in a blue glowing uniform. It is believed that the apparition is Constable Tregoweth who was killed in a bushfire in the early 1900s near the hotel.

Gordon Lee House

The 1840’s antebellum mansion is said to be haunted by a man in a civil war uniform, along with the ghost of a German Shepard that belonged to a former owner.

City Tavern

Employees and diners at this popular restaurant and bar have reportedly encountered a male spirit. Known as ‘David’, patrons have had their hair pulled and have been pushed around by unseen hands.

Majestic Theater

Dating back to 1912, the historic theater achieved notoriety when the ‘Marx Brothers’ performed a vaudeville act there in 1916. However, the theatre is also renowned for its ghostly inhabitants, including a ghostly child and Julia Remmington, a former owner.

Hale Farr House

The 1848 mansion has housed the ‘Kenosha Women’s Club’ since 1923, and according to some is rumoured to have a resident ghost. Members of the club and visitors have reported the sound of a bell ringing, disembodied footsteps and the apparition of a woman in period clothing.

Gillett Historical Society

Built in 1908 by Ruth and John Smith, the historic mansion and museum is rumoured to be haunted. Local folk say the ghost is that of Mary Gillett (wife of the town founder), who used to live in a previous residence located on the site of the current structure (the former burnt to the ground after a suspicious fire in early 1908). Ghostly conversation has also been heard emanating from empty rooms.
