At this location in 1964, a mother and her six children died in a house fire. The museum is located on top of the site where the house burnt down. The children play around the museum and have been spoken to during ghost hunts. Other paranormal activity includes items falling off the walls, EVPs recorded with different voices from other spirits that roam around the building.
The building itself is over 100 years old and has been the home to numerous businesses over the years. Many have not stayed long. Employees report that items fall from shelves at random. The Stage Coach Inn was built in 1856 by John and Martha Moorhead; The Inn served a stage coach stop and the first court house in Ida County Iowa and was also the church, School as well as the first hospital in Ida grove were amputations sometimes accrued on the very table that still remains inside, it was also the county’s post office and it served all these purposes all at the same time in the mid 1800’s. The activity there ranges from everything too footsteps, disembodied voice’s and whistles and on one occasion the spinning wheel in the class room area was captured on video turning rapidly then abruptly stopped. The Inn was constructed on native American burial ground and shadowy figures are sometimes seen near and around the burial tree only forty or so feet from the front door. The stair case is thought to be a porthole as most of the activity is located near or on the steps. This activity has been documented on video. The old Inn is 1 half mile west of Ida Grove Iowa in Moorhead park. You can find some of the evidence captured there on YouTube.
This Greenbelts a nice place to be for walks and relaxation, and everyone in the area loves going to it. It’s always very calm and nice in the evening, as well.
It’s a story, though, that in 2005, a man shot himself at night in the Greenbelt. They say that he was distraught because his wife was cheating on him, and suffered from depression. Now, his ghost wanders through the Greenbelt at night, passing people on walks, and apparently vanishing when they speak to him. I know many people who experienced this.
The areas great, this is just one of many legends.
This place has been on Haunted America, National Geographic Haunted, and several other media projects. Faces, shadows, orbs and all manner of strange things are seen by staff and visitors alike.
This building was built in 1918, and shut down in 1999, due to chemical leaks from the basement pipes. Since it was shut down, there have been many sightings of ghosts and what some believe may be demons, or the angry spirits of the patients who just happened to die .in the hospital. The hospital went through many changes, and reached many stages. It went from a hospital, to an asylum, to an old folks home, and then right back to a hospital. After it was shut down, many people broke in to see what kind of strange things they could find in this historic building. In the east wing, the “pink room” was found. Bright pink walls, smeared with blood that seemed to be placed there by the angry spirit of the psychopath that once resided there. The basement and morgue were places not many had the courage to explore. The majority of those who went into the basement and/or morgue, never entered the building again. The citizens living near and around the building, told of an apparation they saw running through the hospitals yard. In spring on 2016, the building caught on fire, and half of it was torn down. All that is left now of the building is one wing, containing the chapel, kitchen, boiler room, and a few patients rooms. On the chapel floor, you can find strange scratches and blood stains, along with items used for satanic rituals. The building left with a strange history, and the spirits who left it becomes more angry and restless every day, as the horror of what happened to their home hits them.
The “Historic Alma House” at the Silverton Inn of the Rockies was built in 1898. It was built as a Inn for Mining and Train executives. High in the Mountains, Silverton was once a bustling mining town. The Durango Silverton Railroad ran between towns. These were rough times, with saloons and a Red Light district. There were shootings, mine accidents, avalanches and being snow bound as just a few causes of untimely deaths. There are several reports of sightings, movements and sounds at the Alma House.
Voices are heard, a woman in a window, switches turned off, and feelings of a presence by those who say they are sensitive to such things.
