Locals say that an evil entity is here. It manifests as a dark shadow and is a very intimidating being. One explanation is that it is something that was summoned by an occult gathering.

  1. Juan Carlos Escobar  |

I was walking on main street one time around 2008 and I noticed a giant bat like creature that appeared and disappeared. In 2016, my friend got into an accident right in front of where i saw the giant bat like creature. I was hoping to find something on this event and bingo, the otay valley hauntings posted on this site. The rumors are real, no joke.

  2. The energy in the area is just entirely “off”. I live right in the area of the park. When we first moved in, my neighbor said she saw a man with a cowboy hat, standing in front of our back yard… what trips me out, is years later, a friend I met at work, lived in the same area and saw the SAME male “ghost” or whatever it is (without me ever mentioning it). At times, you feel like someone is just staring at you from the trees and bushes of the park/trails, whether from close or far. But all in all, the rumors are all true. Especially to those who are “open”, you can sense an eerie feeling, especially at night when everything is silent.

  3. The river bottom is very active in a spiritual sense, eerie feelings in many places. An overwhelming feeling of being watched or stalked by something dark may or may not occur. Demonic ritual activity in multiple locations.

  4. While I can see this place being haunted due to the history (two children were murdered here in 1993) you also have to remember the frequent homeless camps here. If it feels like you being watched, it’s probably one of the bums in the bush

  5. My friend was murdered and his body was tossed in alley and burned behind a tire shop next to the park…without his head.. there have been multiple corpses found there.
