The historic inn is haunted by several apparitions. The first is a ghostly face that has been staring into guests rooms from outside the inn, only to vanish when approached. A ghostly woman in white has been seen in the bar area of the hotel, and has also been seen walking through the hotel lobby. The apparition of a woman in a dress has been seen on the second floor, along with spirit of a gambler who committed suicide in his hotel room.

Osceola Inn was demolished several years ago.
In 1983 at the age of 18 I worked there on nights as clean up. In the main lobby next to the banquet room there use to be an ice machine and behind this ice machine was a door that was blocked. I did pull the ice machine out one day to see where the door went. I remember there were a few steps up and then a room that looked like it hadn’t been touched in a hundred years. There was an old victrolla record player, a bed, and a lot of cob webs. It was like the room had just been sealed away. I have never heard anyone speak of it. I always got the creeps working there at night, especially in the cellar. It always felt like someone was watching me.
Egbert R. Stowe apparently committed suicide in the Oaks House on October 26,1893.
Is he the gambler who is noted as one of the ghosts?
Please see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Stowe-1827 for details about his life.
My parents owned a business in Reed City. My dad had lunch every day at the Inn.
My friend and I used to go hit him up for money so were in and out of the hotel.
We used to open the room doors to look around and if we heard a voice call out we would run in to the bathroom down the hall. People said there were ghosts doing it.
Nope, it was Laurel and DeAnne.
