Witnesses have seen the ghost of Jean Lafitte here, and occasionally, they say, he even gives parties. Laughter and carousing can be heard, chairs and dishes move, and objects fly about the room, but nothing of the spirits can be seen, although misty shadows and strange noises are said to erupt from the building’s underground tunnels.
