The historic 12-room home, actually shaped like an octagon, is believed to be haunted. Operating now as a museum, it is said to be home to the spirit of a young boy whose aparition has been seen throughout the house. Witnesses also report items that are moved or disappear, doors that open and close on their own, footsteps, shadowy figures, cold spots, and unexplained lights and sounds. One report says that a spinning wheel was taken completely apart in a matter of a few seconds.

A couple years ago my group filmed an investigation here for TV and we came up with some pretty interesting stuff. You can view the episode here: http://www.midwestpreternaturalresearch.com/oct.html
A freind of mine was walking on Linden st. Late one night and saw a young boy standing in the yard..he said to the boy ‘isn’t a little tolate for you to be out?’ The boy didn’t respond..when my freind looked back the boy was gone..
I visited this house recently and its filled with spirits of all kinds. We had smells, breathing in my ear, steps up the stairs, lights on n off and stomach aches. So much more. Too bad its being rented out now.
I’ve never actually been to the Octagon house, but my cousin who lives in Watertown told me a story about how it was haunted. She said that the house was once used as an orphanage and school. She said that one of the teachers that worked there was walking on a staircase and fell through the stairs, her neck broke and she was buried in the backyard instead of having a proper burial. My cousin also told me that one of the kindergarten classrooms is haunted and a bunch of children ghosts gather in a circle and start singing ring around the rosy while circling the room. I know that most of these things aren’t true, though.
About 12 years ago my youngest daughter & my grandma went on some kind of tour they were given. My 10 yr old daughter(at the time) experienced seeing thing, smells( no one could smell). 2 pictures of her were taken 1 with a white figure behind her & the other with a antique shadow. It was the same picture taken. The shadow was just different color. Now she is 22 yrs old. She tried to go back, but the person the owns it doesn’t allow it.
