Thought to be over 250 years old, the building was once used as a Civil War hospital. It is haunted by a ghost called Hoppy or Peg-Leg, seen wearing soldier’s clothing, a peg-leg, and a gold earring in his left ear. Legend has it that Hoppy was a pirate who was captured and turned traitor to his fellows. He lost his leg in battle and eventually died of gangrene. In addition to seeing his apparition, witnesses have reported hearing his footsteps, including the tapping of his peg-leg, at around sunset.

Visited here years ago. Many of the items from the hospital era remained, which may account for some of the activity. During the tour, two people had their arms grabbed- 1.- girl was standing still in the front room downstairs, watched as her arm was slowly lifted (she of course, panicked), 2. a guy attempted to touch one of the wooden wheelchairs upstairs and got pulled towards it. At one point, we felt freezing cold, even though we were standing in front of a large heater (also in front room). One of the mattresses on the old beds upstairs had two impressions in it, like someone was propped up on their elbows, watching us. Noticed cigar odor and what looked like cigar ash near the impressions. There is a pretty good sized open area under the house that we were allowed to tour as well. While there, a large, purple mist could be seen. A few, very degraded artificial limbs were laying about in the dirt. If I can find my picture of the mist, I will send.

Anyone hae any idea how to get ahold of the owner ?
I lived across the street in an antique shop from the house my whole childhood and ive heard many stories about the place and even been in it a couple of times. You definitely get the feeling of someone watching you. Ive also seen many people try to fix it up and they all get spooked away before they even get anything done. My dad was friends with one group of carpenters that tryed fixing it, and they told him that they had all there tools in tje house and left for the night and when they came back the next day all there tools were stacked up on top each other. So they grabed all there tools and got the hell out of there. Told the owner about it and said they went going back in there. Ive also have heard of other people going in there and being overwhelmed with depression that last with them for years to come. I still pass by the house everytime I go to my parents house ,and its looking real rough now, i dont even know if its even repairable anymore.
