Originally opened as the Loew’s Theater in 1928, the theater is said to be haunted by several ghosts. Some are seen as apparitions in the balcony area, including a man in 1930s garb who disappears when approached. In the mezzanine lobby, a faceless woman in a 1940s clothing has been seen climbing the stairs. In the restroom beyond the Ladies’ Parlor, the sound of a young child giggling has been heard. The ghost of a projectionist who had a heart attack on the job is said to haunt the projection booth, and Ferdinand Frisch, an employee who died in the building in 1965, is said to appear throughout the building.
