This building was the courthouse between 1909 and 1964, and then it was the headquarters of the Wildlife and Fisheries Museum. In 2004 it become the Supreme Court of Louisiana, and it is said to be haunted by several ghosts. Two are always seen together, allegedly the ghosts of two witnesses shot in the courtroom during a 1930s Mafia murder trial. Another ghost, a man in a shirt and tie, has been seen late at night in a third-floor window. A female ghost is believed to linger outside the building, and can be heard crying. Some witnesses have felt her touch them.
