I wish I could give more particulars but I had a very uneasy sleep here about 8 years ago. I was not on the 18th floor but there was something that disturbed me there. Not surprised to find this on the list of haunted placed in Los Angeles.
I worked there from 92-95 we had few thing that did happen there. Suicides by people jumping off the roof or jumping out the window from the 18th floor.
Stayed for one night on the 18th floor in room 1821 and lights kept turning off/on in the room. We tried to figure out if it could be due to a motion sensor, but none of the patterns would make sense for it to be that. (Example: bedside lamps would turn off at random and not turn on when we flicked switches, or only turn on for a minute, then once I got up to turn on a standing lamp and once that turned on, the bedside lamps turned on again by themselves). My partner, who is much more of a skeptic about ghosts than I am, even eventually agreed that it was really weird and no clear electrical explanation was handy.
