Several ghosts are said to reside in the charming Lakeside Inn, which was built in 1883. Two of the inn’s ghosts are young girls from the 1890s to 1920s. One is about 9 who wears a frilly red dress. She is believed to be Amy, a little girl who disappeared from the inn in 1892. The other is a girl around 12 who wears a blue dress and is often seen in the dining room. She may even move the chandeliers and chairs. Also seen at the inn are the apparitions of a man in a top hat and a gangster in a fedora.

I had my second experience at Lakeside Inn. Last night was the second time my husband and I “tried” to stay in the newly renovated section of the hotel but had to leave. Both times, same bldg. but different room, I become uncontrollably emotional and couldn’t breathe, crying hysterically. I keep thinking I must be having some reaction to the cleaning products but now I’m thinking it must be something else.
Check out the first floor lake-view room. the right side of the hotel. Several hotel guest have seen a man standing at the end of the bed.

Husband and I had some activity, what happened to you?
I have had several experiences of the non-living persuasion. But never a time that I felt afraid or scared.
My husband and I stayed in the newer cottages, November 14 and 15, 2015 We did have 2 orbs in the hallway on the first and second floor, My husband and I both took photos with our phones, and ipad. These 2 orbs stayed together throughout the first and second floors, low to the carpeted hallways. The night was a rainy night with a little bit of lighting, which is thought to increase paranormal activity. In the late night, not sure what time it was we heard kids playing in the hallway…I opened the door, but no one was there. Creepy!

THE HISTORIC LAKESIDE INN, Mt. Dora, FL
Video of a recording session from the “down the back stairs Ladies Room” — using water from the faucet for a carrier wave… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44Gql82RRFQ&feature=youtu.be
Friend and I out for a walk Tues, 10/17; Given the chance to record a bit in the picturesque Lakeside Inn. Hear tell there’s a male entity that hangs around near the back staircase (He’s been seen!) – We head down to the Ladies Room and capture a session using water from the basin faucet for a sound field. Interesting responses – This message, in particular, grabs my attention! (*For those who might not be familiar, in 1919 all 50 states ratified the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, effectively prohibiting the production, transport and sale of alcohol; Because social drinkers were unwilling to forego their favorite past time, hidden Speak-easys (aka “Blind Pigs”) sprang up over-night — Because “Bathtub Gin” was plentiful, “Gin Joint” also became part of popular nomenclature of the time.)
I stayed with my sister in a room and she woke up around 2:30 to seeing a hand being put on our step sisters shoulder as she was asleep and also heard walking down the hallways and then soft laughing and then 2 knocks at the door.

I had a project in town and the project team decided to stay at this inn. It was beautiful, charming and had a lot of character. My experience involved being woken up multiple times by something that felt like someone was sitting down forcefully on the side of my bed. It happened on the first level, and my room was adjacent to the pool.
We stayed this past weekend at the inn upstairs in one of the 10 rooms. My husband woke up about 4:30am to use the bathroom. I’m a light sleeper, it woke me up so I decided to go after he was done. I was just in bed with my eyes closed when I hear a sound on the hardwood floor. Then something was on the bed next to me. I felt myself being held down and I tried to push the pressure off. The toilet flush and the pressure immediately lifted and got off the bed. I heard the noise on the floor again right before my husband opened the bathroom door. I was shaken and refused to let us go back to sleep. I didn’t want to be left in the room alone again. We only stayed that one night.
My parents stayed there years ago but I distinctly remember my mom telling me that she was awoken in the wee hours by a lady dressed in 1800s clothing holding a clipboard standing by the foot of their bed. My mother told her very politely that she was frightened and if she could leave, that would be wonderful. The lady walked away, vanishing out of the room. In the morning, my mom told her experience to the lady at the front desk who acknowledged the ghost by name (apologies, I can’t remember) and said other guests have seen her too.
when i tell you my bones shook just reading this…
Me and my husband stayed very recently, Aug 25 to 26th. and we stayed on the second floor Main lobby with the view of the lake room 7203. I was awaken in the middle of the night and heard a piano playing and i was thinking how could it be possible who could still be playing piano at the main lobby during the wee hours and if its from the restaurant, it will be really impossible to be heared all the way on the other end on the second floor. I was unable to get back to sleep afterwards.
in 1997 I was 11 yrs old and there to bury my mother who had just passed. I dont have a very clear memory of WHAT bothered me so much, but my father and brother had gone out to eat and sit at the bar. I was left alone most of the night. I can only remember being terrified for no apparent reason. in 1997 it was antique.
