This historic opera house was formerly the town church, built in the mid nineteenth century and the first in the surrounding county. The ghostly events surrounding the opera house began in the 1980’s, when staff closing up the opera house for the night began to hear loud crashing noises and disembodied footsteps in the empty building. The opera house is also believed to be haunted by a former owner, who has been known to speak to theatre patrons in deep voices, and a female spectre, who has been known to sing arias during piano recitals.
