The Hotel Viking is believed to be haunted by a ghostly group of party-goers. At first, guests complained about the noise of a great party in the night, heard above one of the ballrooms (a space used for storage). But after renovations, the location of the spectral party seems to have changed to the hotel’s lower levels. Cold spots, flickering lights, moving objects, voices and footsteps are among the eerie experiences also reported throughout the hotel.

There are two little girls in black dresses that stand at the end of the hallway on the first floor. Scariest thing I’ve ever seen in my life! I wanted to cry and run away I was so scared.
About 10 years ago, I stayed at the Hotel Viking with my then husband for Valentines Day. That night we went to sleep, I awoke to what I heard as a loud party going on at the foot of the bed. Once I opened my eyes, everything was silent. It honestly sounded like the party was right in our room! I thought it to be strange but dismissed it. Months later I was reading a book on haunted places in Rhode Island and as I was reading about the Hotel Viking, I just about fainted! I read that guests have heard a party going on in the middle of the night! Not knowing about their experiences, I was no longer dismissing the ghost party that I heard that night.
I recently stayed at Hotel Viking and was awakened by someone throwing something at me. I was half asleep but I looked towards the door and I saw what appeared to be a white object moving from the bathroom to the window and then out of sight. Around 3 am it was very noisy outside. When I looked out window I saw no one, the temp was in the single numbers outside. I mentioned the noise going on out front but I was advised party was over early.
At the end of the first-floor corridor, you’ll find two tiny girls dressed completely in black. This is the scariest thing I’ve ever seen! The level of fear I felt made me want to cry and escape.
