Folks in the know will tell you that the Shanghai Room, in the 1950s, was a bar in which a female bartender was stabbed to death. Witnesses say the lights flicker, the doors close on their own, the air is extremely cold, and the smell of blood is detectable from within 20 feet of the room.

The halls in the basement have doors that move further down the hall
I work for the Hotel,Some time ago. I worked nights ,7 to 3 sometimes ,11:00 to 7, in there Laundry,I loved my job,No boss,I could play my tunes ,I love working with night crew they were Aw some..I never seen but I would hear things ,,People would be talking and I could hear glasses and ice being put in glass.I would step out of the laundry and it would stop,The only thing down there is storage,,the glass drop from the bra,,but this was way after the bar was closed. There where many times things seemed odd,But nothing ever happen to me ,I think the Ghosts at the Mead are not there to hurt but. to stay .
Me and a couple of other girls are here for a one night stay and things are already weird. Entering our hotel room, the lights started to flicker. Immediately when we entered the room we felt chills, and as if someone was watching us. Not only feeling chills from walking into our room, the room was cold from the start. Even hours before entering the hotel, we had already heard stories about what has happened in the basement. The music throughout the hallways made the atmosphere even more creepy. Overall, the hotel is very nice and the workers are very friendly!
