This 1916 railroad hotel has been a local establishment for almost one hundred years, and remains popular with locals, travellers and even the spirit crowd. Rumoured to have at least three ghostly presences roaming the halls, the hotel has well and truly put the small town on the paranormal map. Reports range from sightings of a former housekeeper known as ‘Edith’ who tucks guests into bed to the wife of a former owner known as ‘Josephine’ who died in an automobile accident and has been seen ever since on the stairs and in the dining room. Other stories indicate that a mans face has shown up in photographs, but his association with the building is unknown.

The man is likely to be Josephine’s husband. Mr. Higgins died roughly 2 years after his wife’s accident. Afterward, the hotel ownership was disputed by the heirs, where it was finally sold at a tax auction.
