My husband and I stayed at the hawlthorn hotel. The only thing I felt was on the 5th floor once I got out of the elevator. One spot on the right side it felt dark. Not evil , like something unseddled there. It felt empty, like someone was not wanting to leave even though they should. Didn’t want to hurt anyone. They were hurting. I felt nothing on the 6th floor . The room we stayed in was good, old but good vibes.
My dad worked here in the 70’s. There seems to also be a spirit that wanders through the hall near the kitchen. He saw and heard some pretty strange things in that area.
I brought a group of students in 1998. The elevator would automatically go to the basement regardless of what floor we selected. It never went to the 6th floor.
In another incident, I was taking a nap in my room and the window opened by itself, then closed. It was very eerie! At first I thought I was dreaming, but it happened again.
Stayed there one time about 6 years ago (2012 maybe?). I woke up in the middle of the night. I couldn’t figure out what woke me. The air in the room felt heavy and close and I watched the chandelier trembling above me. I looked like it had been moving but was just coming to rest.
about 4 years ago I took my best friend and brother out for some ice cream in Salems downtown area while eating our ice cream while walking pass the witch house i told them about hearing about the hotel being haunted and they laughed at me like no way Amira lets go check it out and so we did front desk is friendly and will let you walk around the hotel to explore. we took the stairs and landed on 4th floor and here I’m reading 6th floor? hotel is very old fashion so maybe we were on the 6th floor but didn’t feel like it. it is a dark hotel once your upstairs and very cold. as we are walking around my brother stated he needed to use the bathroom, so we stop at the men’s bathroom and we all heard humming very loudly, so we started to laugh happy to hear someone in a good mood. My brother used the bathroom a once he came out, he asked us if we see the guy come out? we both looked at each confused and replied NO who are you talking about? my brother’s eye opened wide and said the man who was humming. I opened the stall to get tissue for my nose and I heard the door open, and the humming stopped I figured he walked out. we answered No. my brother turned around to walk back in the bathroom to check and the humming started again we all looked at each puzzled. and I pushed the door open we took a glimpse, and the humming STOPPED, and it was freezing and there was no one in site. no one walked in nor OUT! we ran out of that hotel without saying a word and never went back.
