One of those genuinely “creepy” roads, Gulf Road is popular with bikers because of its steep hills and numerous twists and turns. Shadow figures of a woman have been sighted along the road, as well as burning crosses.

I lived right down the street from here growing up. As teens we used to hike up through here. We would hear a rustle in the Trees like someone was following us but turn in time to only see a figure disappear into the shadows. We would hear quiet chanting and glowing in the distance but never could get any closer to it no matter where we walked. We stopped going too far off the road after finding a dead cat hanging from a tree and upside down crosses carves into Trees.
Nicole, were did you hike? I’m interested in seeing the trees with the upside down crosses.
I have heard many stories about this road from people in the community, went there tonight with a friend. Unsettling and generally creepy. The road is out in the middle of nowhere, and very claustrophobic!
I drove that road at night. I read a bunch of stories on it and wanted to check the road out myself. The road seemed like any other road to me. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Years and years ago there was a missing girl in the area. A shoe was found in the road. I don’t know whatever happened. My father and I would look for lost golf balls. And would tell me the story.. Does anyone else remember this story.
I have seen many photos of “ghosts” and as a photographer I typically laugh. More often than not they are out of focus and all in all simply crappy photography. So I decided to create a good ghost photo at Gulf Road, Chittenango, NY. Disclaimer, this photo is an example of lobg exposure photography, not a ghost, although many have been fooled
There was article in the paper a few years ago stating just that. I do wish they had taken pictures of it when they were there. It sits on a hill by route 5 and I pass it at least once a week. There is also another graveyard at Bennets Corner on route 104.
I don’t go near Gulf Road anymore. It is creepy in a bad way. Supposedly a witch lived around there. My advice is to stay away from there.
