As I research my family history I found that I had a Cousin, Lieutenant-Colonel Valentine Cupp that died in the southeast parlor of the Lee House in 1830. Mortally wounded on the field and taken there
and died that evening
Sorry about the date it was 1863
Very interesting connection, Harry. I’m sorry he passed under such circumstances…we are not from the area but live here now. my teen son and I toured the mansion a while back. There is definitely a “other” type feeling in the house..We used to belong to a investigating team back him in Buffalo, but haven’t gotten involved yet with one here…I am actually thinking of starting my own team here, as it has been difficult to get a response from the few teams I have contacted here so far..Are you interested? Know of any folks with some experience who might be interested? Let me know. My name is Terri Beck and I am on FB under that name.
Hey there I am from Buffalo area also!! I wld love to do this with you. My mom and I do this by ourselves.
I was a tour guide at the mansion for one summer. Although it could get rather creepy at times (particularly on dark, rainy days, I never saw anything peculiar. I did hear a strange knocking coming from an armoire one time.
