A ghost believed to be that of Lady Meldrum (who died in the 13th century) has been spotted ever since her remains were moved from inside of the castle to a cemetery. Another spirit, that of Dane Lilias Drummond, was heartbroken after her husband left her for her cousin. She later grew ill and died shortly after, but can be found in the corridors and is even believed to have carved her name in stone by her former husband’s window after she died. A trumpeter can also be heard playing throughout the castle despite no one being around.
