The old courthouse that still stands here was the sight of many a death sentence handed out in the late 19th century – the hangings occurred just outside. It is said that the ghosts of the condemned men still roam this area.

I have visited this place with a tour group and by myself. On neither occasion did I encounter anything unusual, but there was an eerie feeling in the adjoining jail, a feeling as if there was a presence watching us – that I/we was/were not in there by myself/ourselves. There was a sense of heaviness in the courtroom and at the gallows, but to me it was my knowledge of the place’s history rather than some eerie feeling.
As a local who has visited occasionally, I can’t say that I have had any paranormal experiences.
I ate lunch there.Nothing happened.
What did you eat?
I live in fort smith and have been to the courthouse many times, the one time I walked around the outside during the night I’d say it was around 10pm, I saw a few blue orbs around the underground entrance to the courthouse , it was pretty creepy :/
I would love for my team to get to investigate that place that would be cool
I was born and raised in FS and have been to Judge Parker’s Courthouse, as it is known, many times. Other than creepy feelings, I’ve never had a paranormal experience here. The jail, underneath the courthouse is especially creepy though and always feels as if someone is hiding and watching you from the inside. The Old Fort Museum near the courthouse is rumored to be haunted as well. I was also disappointed that The Clayton House on Rogers Ave. did not make the list!
i been there before it is very creepy
This is where Judge Isaac Parker held court. There is hate and sorrow here. There is also fear from those who will not Cross Over because they know what awaits them.
