Fort San was once a sanatorium and later a summer arts camp, but is now a resort village. It has a ghostly Nurse Jane who has been seen in the halls and on the grounds. Visitors also have reported voices, footsteps, wheelchair-rolling sounds, apparitions in mirrors, mists, the feeling of being choked, the sound of their names being called, and a feeling of uneasiness or being unwanted.

I attended summer band camp here when I wqs younger. we had our sleeping quarters in a building where the patients who had t.b. were kept. my roommate and I shared one room. one night I rember waking up in the middle of the night. there was a desk and chair and I saw the chair and herd it move but no one was there. I freaked out and hid under my blankets I was shaking like a leaf. I finally screamed and woke up my roommate. I told her about it but she didn’t belive me. I attended that band camp for 3 years.
