Apparitions of soldiers, not unexpectedly, have been seen at Fort Douglas Military Museum, a collection of artifacts from the 1860s fort, a training base and holding place for prisoners of war during WWI and WWII. Clem is the most well-known ghost here: His apparition and footsteps have been noticed by many. Also seen at times are a woman in purple, a young girl, and a floating face. The cemetery is an active place for ghostly soldiers, retired veterans, and even Japanese and Italian prisoners of war.

  1. This place is definitely haunted. My grandma used to drag my cousins and I to this godforsaken place all the time when we were little. There is a little store there that is haunted by an older man that DOES NOT like children, and he especially doesn’t like you if you’re rambunctious! We would see him out of the corners of our eyes, but one time my older cousin was chasing me through the aisles when I ran right into this man. He was as solid as you or me, but when I looked up into his face he snarled at me and disappeared right before my eyes. My cousin saw the whole thing too. We tried to tell my grandma, but she didn’t believe us. After that, we were never rowdy in the store again.
