This hotel is said to be the home of Julia. One report says she killed herself here after losing her baby; another says she committed suicide after turning down a marriage proposal. Julia’s Room is said to be one of the most haunted places here. She also has been witnessed in the kitchen and the upper hallway. The restaurant here, Julia’s Place, was named for her as well. Ghostly occurrences have also included distant music and floorboards that creak in rhythm as if Julia is dancing.

Investigated there a few years ago and nothing was noted in any of our evidence. We were told that a previous group sat on the hardwood floors in the middle of the lobby and K2 activity was off the chart. There should be K2 activity considering the wiring and everything that is under the floors as they were remodeled and heated flooring put in. Stay at the Hand Hotel in Fairplay That place has activity big time.
I stayed in room 214 which I later found out is actually room 212 (Julia’s room). They changed the room numbers.. You can still see the 212 room number behind the 214. I had a shirt fly asteroids the room onto my bed while trying to fall asleep. Other than the creaks at night that was it. Over all I enjoyed my stay.
