A woman in white is most commonly seen floating along the trails. Native Americans that once inhabited this area are also said to roam these grounds, sometimes seen hanging in the trees. Mysterious voices heard in this area are also attributed to an asylum that is said to have burned down nearby.

Elfin Forrest has been pretty much all built over with luxury apts and condo’s, it is no longer magical.
I live in the Del Dios / Elfin Forest area, just between Lake Hodges and the new Palomar Hispital. While there are some new buildings and even a small town that have gone up recently, it is still dominated by forest. And the paranormal activity out here is still active as ever. Come out here at night and wonder around and see for yourself!! I dare you.
I was driving down elfin forest road one month ago, I glanced up at the over head telephone lines, not over head electric. About 3-5′ above the lines was a blackish grey cloud super dense. It was roughly 3-4′ in diameter and looked like a giant cotton ball. There was not a cloud in the sky. I pulled over to look again and it was gone. I grew up in this area and know it very well. I’ve driven this road night and day, I’ve seen the weird fog that settles in the valley. I’ve never seen anything like that.
Don’t forget the mysterious white ghost horses that stampede in the dark night. I was a member of quest haven as a child. I witnessed many unusual paranormal activities in the area I will never forget.
