You are here Home  > Bridges >  Caroleen Broad River Bridge

Some locals say if you drive past the bridge on rainy nights, you may see the apparitions of two elderly ladies walking. They are believed to be the spirits of two sisters who were killed when they drove off the side of the bridge. Some say if you give them a ride, they’ll disappear from the back of your car.

  1. It is a creepy spot, certainly, but the metal suspension bridge over the Broad at the Dark Corner was one of the creepiest things I’ve seen or experienced. My wife and I watched a truck disappear while crossing the bridge, which had too many holes in it to suit us, and so we left the dark corner quickly.
