Canfield's Restaurant

You are here Home  > Restaurants and Bars >  Canfield's Restaurant

Built in the 1790s to be a boardinghouse, the building that now houses Canfield’s Restaurant is said to be haunted by a poltergeist. Witnesses say teapots are turned topsy-turvy, chairs move around, and the some witnesses are smacked in the behind. Believed to be Lydia Dana, a previous owner, she is said to be an affectionate sort of ghost, and is called “Mother Dana” by many employees and customers.
