Cameron House

You are here Home  > Historical Buildings >  Cameron House

Lady Cameron’s former house contained a basement that was a refuge for Chinese immigrants rescued from prostitution and slavery. But angry townspeople got wind of what she was doing and set fire to her house, killing the immigrants. The restored Cameron House, now a church, has its basement doors marked with a red and a gold charm to seal in the spirits. Pictures taken inside have shown white apparitions.
