Urban legend has it that this is the very New England college that stored H.P. Lovecraft’s famed evil book Necronomicon, buried deep underground. Although the Lovecraft book “Necronomicon” is a work of fiction, fans maintain that the book of spells actually exists at Northpoint Bible College (formerly Bradford College). It is a popular school legend, and because of it, locals maintain that the tunnels below the school are haunted.

Yeah. It’s haunted. I was working by myself in Denworth Hall one night (the theater) and I noticed a young lady sitting in the balcony. Both balcony doors were closed at the time and I was alone in the space. When I noticed her, there was a crash backstage that made me focus my attention there for a moment. (It was loud.) When I looked back at the balcony she was gone. There was nowhere she could have gone without my seeing her. And for the record, the crash backstage was my fault and not some mystical thing. But both doors were still closed. It was weird.
Spooky.
Her name is Amy! At least that’s what we were told 🙂 When I was younger my ballet school used to perform the Nutcraker there! We used to have really freaky things happen especially if her favorite person wasn’t there(his name was Peter- he’s the one who told us she existed). Every year when we’d go in we’d all make sure we said “Hello Amy!!!” in hopes she wouldn’t pull any funny business on us
I went to Northpoint when it moved to bradford college and it was still called Zion Bible College. I worked on the maintenance crew and I can honestly say that that tunnel from the student building to the office building is one of the creepiest places I’ve been in my life. There are sprawling spray paint murals on the walls and demonic looking symbols. I walked it from end to end and I can say that the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up the whole time. The tunnel wasn’t what anyone had to worry about… it was the dorms that were truly haunted. Former Bradford College students left ominous poems on furniture. And on MULTIPLE occasions many different students in both dorms reported seeing a small female child walking through the hallways and stopping in doorways. This was an evil spirit.
Staff pulled students together once a month for prayer walks around the campus and it took months of prayer and intercession but after that the sightings stopped and people were abe to sleep in the dorms peacefully. The place was a.mad house for the first 2-3 years I was there.
My grandmother worked in the little cafĂ© area for many years… and worked very late nights she had also seen a women many times…heard voices and I really can’t remember it all but definitely something going on there
I have had experiences myself. During chapel services, on multiple occasions, a spirit has moved across the whole room. People begin shouting loudly and waving their hands. Oh wait that’s the holy spirit of God because this is a BIBLE college and God is alive in us. I live here, the only ghost we have is the holy ghost. The best answer I have read! It is written “Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.” (Acts 17:22 KJV) You can remove Paul’s reference to Athenians, and insert American, or any other people, and it is still true.
Many many times I’ve have passed by there and have seen a older male security guard walking the premises , I had mentioned to some one as we passed by one night that I always see this man but tonight he is not there… They told me there was no security guard that worked there . Was I a bit creeped out? Naaa I’m use to it , I’ve seen and heard many many things around Bradford and haverhill it doesn’t bother me much . But one thing that does is the feeling of something being there with you and that is a feeling you always getting walking through around or just near that place , I’ve lived here for 22 years and have never heard an actual story of why this place is “haunted” but I can say I definitely have always had that feeling that someone’s watching around that place
I used to visit friends who attented Bradford college and I will never forget the feeling of dread and heaviness felt the whole time while staying in the dorms. .. I myself never saw anything But I know several of our friends saw and heard things. It was just the feeling that got me completely creeped out, and I would agree this is a very haunted place
The reason that they say the place is haunted is because up in the attic of the main building a girl was murdered by a priest for having a relationship with him and getting pregnant
I heard he pushed her out the window then hung himself. I lived in a room on the 3rd floor in that building. Tons of weird things happened to us.
My mother graduated from Bradford Junior College in 1946. The name changed to Bradford college sometime in 1970 or so. She told me when I was young that every girl who went to the tunnels between buildings they only went once. After that they would walk through a blizzard on the footpaths with 2 feet of snow on them before they would go down in the “Witches tunnels” again.
I was a student there the year before it closed. Definitely haunted. I don’t care if no one believes it, I know what I experienced and I will never live in a place with such nasty energy again.
